LET ME KISS IT WHERE IT HURTS ‘MATCH’ RESULTS
Men
1. Paul Moloney (40 and a good bit) – 30:59 (A beautiful display of what’s possible from the fast improving, Master Of Disaster—in-joke. Paulo fizzed around his 10km ’Match’ in 30:59, running an unofficial 40” PB. Not only did he run a PB for 10km but he also went 3” per mile faster than his 5 mile ‘Match’ from the 29th April, when he ran 25:08 (5’02” pace).
2. David Greene (39 and a good wee bit) 34:31 (8’ PB—yes, 8’ PB).
3. Padraig Sheahan (55) – 36:46 (1’35” PB) & Riley Cook – 31:21 (altitude—sea level equivalent: 30:10).
4. –
5. Mark Smith – 32:48 (1’20” PB).
6. Marcus Brown – 37:05 (1’30” PB).
7. Ken Ince – 35:27 (1’02” PB).
8. Hyrum Johnson (solo mile) – 4:33 (coming back from broken fibula; altitude—sea level equivalent: 4:25).
9. Stephen Rooney – 36:21 (55” PB).
10. Declan Murphy 38:38 (held same pace as 5 mile ‘Match’ from 4 weeks back); Scott Allen – 43:38 (held same pace as 5 mile ‘Match’ from 4 weeks back); Kurt Olsen – 48:34 (2” per mile fast than 5 mile ‘Match’ from 4 weeks back); Klemen Magajne (5k) 19:42 (27” faster than 5k ‘Match’ on 1st April); and Samuel Ubersax – 38:40 (35” PB, good race report, and a really cool, jazzy surname).
There were many more PBs but the above (for a number of reasons beyond running substantial PBs) made the top ten. Great to see so many people running PBs. Well done.
Women
1. Sally Forristal – (5 miles) – 30:15. (2’38” faster than 5 mile ‘Match’ on 29th Apr and 33” per mile faster than 5k ‘Match’ on 1st April—since joining Stazza’s Stable, incredible improvement; watch out for Sally over the marathon)…
2. Dee Sheahan – 47:00. (4’13” PB—ran a 1 mile, 2 mile and 10k PB, after also running a 5k PB the week before).
3. Becky Smith – 38:56. (2′ PB. Becky hoped to break 4:00, so she was overjoyed to run 38:56; a fantastic performance and great improvement).
4. Joy Miller (5km) – 17:20. (South Carolina, sweltering heat and humidity; raced a hot and hilly half—1:21—a few days before too).
5. Gaynor (Glorious) Watts – 44:28 (2’17” PB).
6. Jen Hughes – 36:45 (altitude—sea level equivalent: 35:35).
7. Tawny Bybee – 37:09 (27” PB; altitude—sea level equivalent: 35:59)..
8. Amy Cook (mile) – 5:36 (altitude—sea level equivalent: 5:27).
9. Amy Cook (mile) – 5:36 (altitude—sea level equivalent: 5:27).
10. Hebe (Catherine C.) – 48:58 (it’s all about the strawberry cake and consistency); Carol Lewis – 55:44 (Coming back after having a baby and sciatica). Melissa Terpenning – 39:08 (altitude—sea level equivalent: 37:59)
As with the men, we had many more great results but we can only squeeze so many into the top ten.
Next week, I’ll post the overall rankings after the first three ‘Matches’.
Also, next week, we start the ‘Spotlight On’ series. Each week, we’ll take an in-depth look at a Stablemate. Stay tuned for these as they’ll prove entertaining and enlightening…
