Guess who’s back? That’s right, Stablemates; Deirdre “Dr Dre” Balfe is in the News once again, scratching 53” off her best at the Fingal 10K with a 51:58 masterpiece. The doctor was mixing it up with her age-graded collaborators, placing 24th F50 and 231st from the whole shebang.
Dre welcomed the “dry for a change” conditions as she set off on her terrific tempo.
The Stable News was lucky enough to get a slot in Dre’s stacked schedule for a one-liner on her trot:
“Still went out a little fast but overall a lot happier with it than the last race.”
The Stablemaster called up General Puffball to discuss Deirdre’s delightful dash:
“Good day, General. Are you pondering what I’m pondering?”
“Oof, I’d say the odds of that are terribly slim.”
“Well, let me explain … The beat master herself, Deirdre ‘Dr Dre’ Balfe, blasted the Fingal 10K in just over 50 minutes! Stupendous … Simply stupendous.”
“A groovy gallop if ever I saw one. What are we going to do now, Stazza?”
“The same thing we try to do every night, General; try to take over the world!”
Balfe is back in the “studio” rehearsing for her next big release on September 2 at the Dublin Half-Marathon.
